In the summer of 1787 the Congress passed the Northwest Ordinance which mandated that all future states to join the union must be admitted equal in all regards to the states that already existed.
There are 1,860,123 people in Idaho and the government claims to own 32,621,631 acres which represents 61.6%of the land which represents nearly 18 acres for every man, woman and child in the state.
If public land were restored to the state with all of the natural resources the state would experience an economic bonanza. Instead being billions of dollars in debt the state would have a surplus that would enable the state to eliminate all forms of taxation in Idaho.
Idaho and Minnesota are approximately equal in size and, but 61.8% of Idaho is federally owned only 6.8% of Minnesota is federally owned.
